Overview

Greet(“we,” “our,” or “the app”) is a personal relationship management app that helps you stay in touch with the people who matter. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we handle your data.

Data We Collect

  • Account information: Email address, display name, and authentication credentials (managed by Firebase Authentication).
  • Contact information: Names, relationship types, phone numbers, birthdays, and notes you choose to enter or import from your device's contacts.
  • Usage data: Check-in history, nudge interactions, relationship strength scores, and app settings. This data is used solely to power the app's features.
  • Device contacts: If you grant permission, we access your device contacts to let you import them into Greet. We do not upload your entire address book — only the contacts you explicitly select.

What We Do NOT Do

  • We never read your text messages, call logs, or message content.
  • We do not sell, share, or monetize your personal data.
  • We do not use tracking or advertising SDKs.
  • We do not build profiles for targeted advertising.

How We Store Your Data

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication). Data is organized under your unique user ID and is only accessible to your authenticated account. Firebase encrypts data in transit and at rest.

Third-Party Services

  • Firebase (Google): Authentication and cloud data storage.
  • Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In: Optional authentication providers.
  • NewsAPI.org: Used for Greet Plus subscribers to surface relevant conversation starters. No personal data is sent to NewsAPI — only general topic queries derived from contact context.
  • Apple StoreKit: In-app subscription management. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple.

Notifications

Greet sends local notifications to remind you to reach out to contacts. These notifications are generated on-device using our scoring algorithm. No notification content is sent to our servers. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings or within the app.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile section within the app. Account deletion removes all data from Firebase (contacts, events, memories, settings) and deletes your authentication account. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.

Children's Privacy

Greet is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or via email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
